MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
In addition to the functions detailed below, employees are required to carry out such other duties as may reasonably be required. In addition, key objectives and targets will be set/established and agreed on appointment.
Content Development and Organisation (within authoring tool)
•Create and structure modular, standalone content topics to enhance reuse and ensure logical navigation.
•Develop clear hierarchies using single sourcing, leveraging conditions and variables for multi-output usability.
•Manage effective cross-references and hyperlinks within and across topics.
Styles and CSS Management
•Design and maintain Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) stylesheets for consistent formatting across outputs.
•Implement responsive design principles to adapt content for various screen sizes and devices.
•Troubleshoot and resolve styling issues for browser and device compatibility.
Reusable Content Management
•Leverage snippets and variables to simplify updates and ensure content consistency.
•Apply condition tags to filter content for diverse audiences or platforms.
•Develop and implement strategies for efficiently managing and linking reusable content across projects.
Multi-Channel Output Generation
•Configure and manage multiple output targets, including HTML5, PDF, Word, and xAPI formats.
•Tailor output settings to meet specific project requirements, ensuring responsive design across devices.
•Conduct quality assurance checks post-publication to validate formatting, links, and content accuracy.
LMS Administration
•Upload eLearning modules and other learning objects (SCORM, PDFs, videos) to the LMS.
•Troubleshoot course functionality, update content, and adjust system settings as needed.
•Quality assure courses to ensure consistent branding and functional delivery.
•Supporting the LMS Coordinator as needed.
Collaboration within Project Management
•Collaborate on projects on platforms like MadCap Central.
•Contribute to version control, branching, and merging to maintain consistency in project deliverables.
Scripting and Automation
•Automate repetitive tasks, such as batch processing for builds and publishing.
•Develop scripts to update content or manage large-scale changes with minimal manual intervention.
Qualifications and experience:
· Knowledgeable and experienced in using HTML scripting tools, such as MadCap Flare and MadCap Centrl.
· Advanced knowledge of CSS for styling, responsive design, and troubleshooting across multiple outputs.
· Skilled in generating and customising outputs across formats such as HTML5, PDF, and xAPI, with quality assurance post-publication.
· Hands-on experience in uploading, testing, and troubleshooting eLearning modules and other learning objects (SCORM, PDFs, videos, etc.).
· Intermediate / Advance understanding of Java, CSS, HTML or similar.
